The Jordan River, once a touted as one of the world’s important bodies of water is now no more than a shadow of itself. This picture was taken from the Israeli side. On the right side, which is in Jordan, you can see a staircase leading into the water used by Christians to baptize themselves at the spot where tradition has it that Jesus was baptized.
