The Greek island of Santorini was voted the 2011 World’s Best Island for vacationers. The volcanic cliffs of Santorini are red, brown or greenish, surmounted by a string of white villages. Although often referred to as one island Santorini is actually a complex of five islands including two volcanic islands, the last being formed in 1950.
