Winter rain in Israel causes even the Negev Desert to bloom with the new vegetation delineating the path of the water run-offs. This photograph was taken from Sde Boker where the depth of the valley is approximately 400 meters (1300 feet). In the lower left corner you will see a truck just off to the side of the road giving you a feel for the immensity of the area.
