BOOM TOWN – SHANGHAI
Since 1990 this former swamp and farmland has been rapidly transformed into the home of some of China’s biggest buildings, including China’s first (and largest) stock exchange, the tallest TV tower in Asia, the tallest building in China, the tallest hotel (this picture was taken from the 88th floor) and the second-largest department store in the world.
