What appeared to be a house fire with someone trapped on the roof was in fact the middle-east version of sealing the roof of a house under construction. Lay down some tar, ignite it and the molten tar seeps into the porous concrete creating a barrier. And the environment? No need to speculate – just look at the color of the smoke.
