WATER TAXI

Transportation across the many canals that run off of Lake Vembanad in the Kerala district of India is usually by narrow canoes. There is a similarity to the famous gondolas of Venice, but where the gondoliers ply their trade with tourists, here the locals take advantage of the quick and inexpensive way to cross from one side of a canal to the other.
