FEEDING THE MASSES

At the Sikh Golden Temple in the city of Amritsar, India there is a kitchen (langar) where food is served to all visitors regardless of faith or background. Vegetarian food is served to ensure that all people, even those with dietary restrictions, can eat together as equals. It typically feeds up to 100,000 people a day for free and is staffed primarily by volunteers.
